Sandra C\u00e9spedes is an Assistant Professor with the Department of Electrical Engineering and the head of the Wireless Networking Research Group<\/a> (WiNet), Universidad de Chile, Santiago, Chile. She received her B.Eng. and Specialization degrees in Telematics Engineering, and Management of Information Systems, from Universidad Icesi, Colombia, and a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Waterloo<\/a>, Canada.<\/p>\n

She is also a Researcher with the\u00a0NIC Chile Research Labs<\/a> and an Associated Researcher with the AC3E<\/a>. Sandra is an ISOC Returning Fellow for participation and dissemination of the standardization activities at the IETF. Her research focuses on the topics of vehicular communications systems and networking, cyber-physical systems, smart grid communications, and routing and protocols design for the Internet of Things.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Sandra C\u00e9spedes es Ingeniera Telem\u00e1tica (Magna Cum Laude<\/em>) y especialista en Gerencia de Inform\u00e1tica Organizacional, ambos t\u00edtulos obtenidos en la Universidad Icesi, Colombia, en 2003 y 2007 respectivamente. Doctora en Electrical and Computer Engineering<\/em> de la Universidad de Waterloo, Canad\u00e1 en 2012. A partir de 2014 es Profesora Asistente en el Departamento de Ingenier\u00eda El\u00e9ctrica de la Universidad de Chile, donde dirige el grupo de investigaci\u00f3n en Wireless Networking (WiNeT) y participa como investigadora en el NIC Chile Research Labs y en el Centro Avanzado de Ingenier\u00eda El\u00e9ctrica y Electr\u00f3nica (AC3E). Ha sido tambi\u00e9n nombrada Profesora Adjunta Honoraria de la Universidad Icesi.<\/p>\n

En la actualidad sirve adem\u00e1s como Editora Asociada del IEEE Internet of Things Journal<\/em> y del IEEE Vehicular Technology Magazine<\/em> y es revisora de m\u00faltiples journals, entre ellos IEEE Transactions in Intelligent Transportation Systems<\/em>, IEEE Transactions in Mobile Computing<\/em>, IEEE Communications Magazine<\/em>, entre otros. Sandra es IEEE Senior Member desde 2017. Adem\u00e1s es Fellow de la Internet Society para participar en las reuniones de estandarizaci\u00f3n de la Fuerza de Trabajo de Internet (IETF). Sus \u00e1reas de inter\u00e9s en investigaci\u00f3n incluyen redes y sistemas de comunicaci\u00f3n vehiculares, sistemas ciber-f\u00edsicos, comunicaciones en Smart Grid y dise\u00f1o de protocolos y enrutamiento para la Internet de las Cosas.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>
